Multi-asset funds enable a particular level of risk to be targeted in an efficient manner, in line with the requirements which we have established with our clients.
These funds work by having an expert fund manager set the asset allocation appropriate to the amount of risk required and then selecting the best way to gain exposure to each asset class.
Funds of this nature tend to have a very diverse range of underlying investments and a great degree of governance and controls underlying their processes.
Typically providers of such funds will have a range of 4 or more different funds to suit different appetites for risk. Therefore, by only having to change one fund when a client's risk appetite or personal circumstances dictate, overall portfolio management costs can be kept to a minimum.
